Welcome to Southwind Farm! We are Jim and Brenda Waite, lifelong farmers in both the cattle and equine industries here in our native New York. Our farm is nestled in the scenic rolling foothills of the Catskill Mountains, land of covered bridges, lush forests, roaring trout streams and fertile farmland.

Though our farm is small; we have BIG ambitions! We have always believed in quality, rather than quantity. We have been known for our World class Paints and Quarter horses for 35 years. We currently specialize in champion halter horses that go on to ride as well. A recent addition to our equine division is AMHA/AMHR miniature horses. Though relatively new to this field one of our first crops stud colts has sold to a show home and SWF Mr. Spanish Oak has accumulated Hall of Fame points in his first show. We will be expecting 4 mini foals in the spring of 2010.

Being as actively involved in horses and cattle as we are, naturally we turned to the Australian Shepherd for our herding and companion needs! There’s nothing in this world like a good Aussie! We have both standards and Miniature Aussies. We strive to breed the best Aussie possible and can meet any need, be it herding, companion or show.
